Artist in Residency at The Corning Museum of Glass

I was recently invited to an instructor's collaborative residency at The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass, NY. It was a 10 day residency where two glass artists, Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz and I experimented and pushed the boundaries of glassworking. We weren't there to make anything in particular, but rather to try different methods and to challenge the various disciplines of glassworking. We floated freely across various disciplines: casting, kilnworking and blowing- it was the most fun I've had in awhile- to play, explore and experiment in the studio without the feeling of preciousness attached to our studio practices. I recommend this residency to any glass artists. We all each tried new methods of working as a way to challenge the possibility of cross polinating across disciplines.
