Shut- Up and Cook!
Solo Exhibition: Quirk Gallery Richmond VA
This exhibition was about the intimacy of dining: the importance of slow eating, dinner table conversations and the diversity of food across cultural lines. The vegetables and breads are all cast in glass utilizing the pate-de-verre method of color applications. Vegetables were molded from the produce from my garden: small, uniquely shaped with all its beauty and flaws. Recipes were those passed down from friends and family- all leaving a little piece of their family heritage with me. This series is about slowing down, to disconnect with the speed of modern life and to reconnect with the time set by nature.
